Lippert Hosts Record Number of Volunteers During Fourth Annual Volunteer Week
April 26, 2023
Elkhart, Ind. ─ For the fourth year in a row, Lippert Components, Inc. (Lippert™), a supplier of a broad array of highly engineered components for the leading original equipment manufacturers (“OEMs”) in the recreation and transportation product markets and the related aftermarkets of those industries, participated in National Volunteer Week, April 16th-22nd, encouraging people nationwide to give back to their communities while exploring the “why” behind their service.
From trail clean-ups and park beautification efforts in the United States to mentoring and educating women in Tunisia, more than 3,000 Lippert team members across the globe celebrated National Volunteer Week, donating their time, talents and treasures to giving back to their communities. The focus of local efforts was the three-day Volunteer Week Pack-Out event organized at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds, where a record-breaking 1,500 team members boxed 108,000 essential food items, school supplies and toiletries, which were then distributed to local schools and nonprofits. This year’s beneficiaries included the Boys & Girls Club of Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties, La Casa de Amistad, the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and seven schools within Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties.
“’Overwhelming gratitude’ are the words that flood my head when I think about the hearts of those who showed up in a big way again this year to serve our Lippert communities during Volunteer Week 2023,” stated Michilah Grimes, Director of Corporate & Community Impact. “Together, Lippert team members have put over $20 million worth of volunteer hours back into communities across the globe, and it is awe-inspiring. This year, we specifically asked team members to share the ‘why’ behind their volunteerism, and answers ranged from ‘to make the world a better place for my children’ to ‘I was once the recipient of similar acts of kindness, and it changed my life.’ Our team members are a force for good in this world, and seeing the lasting impact is truly why I show up every day,” Grimes concluded.
Participating in Volunteer Week is a key component of Lippert’s overarching philanthropic initiative to use Business as a Force for Good. To unite participants even further, team members were encouraged to look introspectively and determine the “why” behind their commitment to serve. By understanding and sharing their “why”, Lippert hopes that more team members will be called to volunteerism, resulting in the company’s give-back impact being felt for generations to come in communities at home and abroad.
Lippert leaders, team members and partners are looking forward to another year of service that will continue to set the foundation for bringing communities together and serving a greater purpose.
